Bolehall Swifts 2

Pershore Town 1

PERSHORE were much improved but went down 2-1 to Bolehall, who are fifth in the ICIS Midland Combination Premier Division.

Hopes of a point after they were level at 1-1 at the interval were shattered for Town towards the end of the match when Swifts scored the winner.

Swifts were first to attack when Leon Sturridge broke into the box and his low drive was saved by Barry McLean, who also made a brilliant save to stop Jon Franklin's fierce drive.

The pressure paid off for Swifts when they took a deserved lead in the 29th minute, Sturridge netting with a curling shot.

Town picked up the tempo and were rewarded in the 37th minute, when Cyril Dowling's cross fell for Paul Dugdale to equalise.

After the break Town started brightly and an early move by Simon Judge and Will Pedley set up Dugdale for a 30-yard drive which curled just wide.

At the other end John Capaldi hit a 25-yard free kick which McLean tipped over the bar.

The winner came in the 79th minute, Capaldi's free kick dropping over McLean into the far side of the goal.

Wellington Youth 5, Pershore Town Youth 6

PERSHORE Youth gained another three points at Wellington in a Midland Floodlit Youth 11- goal thriller.

Pershore's scorers were Richard Ward (2), Matt Hughes (2), Steve Hather and Tom Griffiths.
