HAVING received formal approval from Malvern Hills District Council to alter the Regal stage, Tenbury Amateur Operatic Society are pressing on with rehearsals for their biggest challenge yet, My Fair Lady, the popular musical adaptated from George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion.
The original production, starring Julie Andrews and Rex Harrison, took London's West End by storm in the 1960s.
The recent National Theatre Company revival features Martine McCutcheon and has been running for three years.

After advice from the technical and back-stage team to cope with the many set changes, an apron has been added to the stage which will slightly reduce audience seating.
Operatic Society regular Eleanor Peberdy will take the part of Eliza Doolittle and Jeremy Hardwicke the part of Professor Higgins. The show will run from April 28 until May 1.
The society's annual dinner is on March 1 at Cadmore Lodge when the guest speaker will be Jen Green of the Tenbury Advertiser.
Tickets can be reserved by calling 01584 810681.
