TENBURY Wells-based businesses, voluntary organisations and community projects in and around the Teme Valley are invited to 'go for platinum' in the Malvern Hills District Council 5th annual Platinum Awards for innovation, dedication and all-round excellence in business and community work.

More sponsors are backing the scheme and with the number of categories increased, competition organiser for MHDC Adrian Field, said.

"This is an annual celebration of the excellence that exists in our area and we want as many Tenbury and Teme Valley-based businesses as possible to enter."

Awards are for excellence in manufacturing, retail, service, technology, the arts, tourism and business start-ups, as well as one overall prize. Judges will be looking for diversification, new techniques, improved service delivery, investment in staff, conservation and recycling activities and active promotion of the Malvern Hills area.

New awards have been created for community projects and voluntary organisations

For the first time the prize winners ceremony will take place in The Forum at Malvern Theatres on April 15 and all applicants will be invited. The event will also provide excellent networking opportunities.
