A COLLEGE lecturer who helps students to conquer learning difficulties and disabilities is facing up to his own fears on a charity trek.
Bruce Foster, student support services manager at Evesham College, will spend six days at the end of May walking 40 miles at 13,500 ft on and around the Great Wall of China to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
This would seem perfectly normal, but Bruce aged 57, who has taught at the college for 22 years, admits he is afraid of heights and has problems with his balance. However, he is ready to face his anxieties in the name of raising money for the charity, which is a very personal cause.
He said: "I have lost important people in my life to cancer and I know that research really does make a difference and I am very excited about this fantastic opportunity.
He also said that he needed to raise a minimum of £3,000 sponsorship.
