A TREE surgeon from Blakedown has urged people to be wary of being offered stolen equipment after nearly £3,500 of cutting gear was taken from his garage.

Angus Sinclair, of Birmingham Road, was unaware of the raid between 11.45pm last Wednesday and 8.30am the next day.

Items taken were a £500 Stihl long reach cutter, two T200 petrol saws worth £800, a £350 hedgecutter, two Husqvarna chainsaws valued at £1,800, and a pair of £80 leather boots.

He said: "What happened was awful - they broke into the garage by breaking the padlock on the door.

"I assume more than one person has done this, but nobody saw anything."

The 50-year-old added: "They'd probably sell the stuff. People should be vigilant and report to the police if they think they are offered stolen goods."

Anyone with information should contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or Kidderminster Police on 08457 444 888.
