TABLE TENNIS: Wyre Forest enjoyed major success in the Worcestershire Schools Table Tennis Championships in Bromsgrove.

Tom McDermott won both the U-16s and U-19s boys' titles, while Kendal Smith was a star turn for the girls in the U-16s.

Scott Wilson triumphed in the U-11s boys and Emily Stewart was a champion for the girls in the same age group, beating school-mate Kirsten Oliver.

Lyall Smith was runner-up in the U-13s boys' competition.

All the winners, many of whom attend Franche Middle School or are former pupils, go on to the National Championships in Stoke on April 26.

Kidderminster finished second in the Heart of England Cadet League, losing out to Birmingham by just two games.

The team of Chris Baldwin, Alex Baldwin and L Smith were also congratulated for their excellent behaviour and sportsmanship.

C Baldwin only lost one match throughout, winning the individual averages and knock-out competition.
