HOCKEY: Chaddesley Corbett gained four points in DTZ League West Midlands Two in a successful weekend.
They won 2-1 at Keele University with goals from debutant Matt O'Brien and Jim Webster before drawing 0-0 at Atherstone Adders.
The first match saw a young Chaddesley side comfortably end a run of five games without a win.
Matt Boden, fed by Dave Greenhouse, set up the first for O'Brien with a powerful run down the left wing but they had to wait until 15 minutes into the second half for another goal.
Webster's swirling shot from a Ben Tomkinson free-hit deceived the kepper and the villagers could have scored more despite a late Keele consolation.
Against Atherstone, 10-man Chaddesley kept their first clean sheet of the season as Tom Boden, Webster and Nick Hemmings worked tirelessly in midfield.
Tim Filby also impressed though the home side missed a penalty flick in the second period.
