DRAMAS and comedies featuring well known faces from television, music and musicals from different eras and stand-up comedy are all ingredients in a rich recipe of variety at Cheltenham's Everyman Theatre this spring.

Among highlights of the new season is The Vagina Monologues, a stage phenomenon that comes to Cheltenham fresh from a sell-out run in London's West End.

The strictly adults only show features a witty and moving collection of stories and has previously starred some of the world's most famous women in London, New York and Los Angeles.

The cast for the show, which runs at the Everyman until this Saturday, includes Rula Lenska.

That will be followed by Moment of Weakness, a sharp comedy by Donald Churchill. It stars Gwen Taylor, best known for television's Duty Free and Barbara. Co-starring Michael Jayston, the play follows the trials and tribulations of divorced couple Tony and Audrey. It runs from Monday, February 24 until Saturday, March 1.

Features of office life, ranging from backbiting to illicit romances, in the pre-internet era form the basis of Alan Bennett's Office Suite, two one-act plays starring Lesley Joseph (Dorian in Birds of a Feather) and Edward Hardwicke. That runs from Monday, March 31 to Saturday, April 5.

Sing-a-long-a Abba encourages audience participation on Sunday, March 9.

Roll out the Barrel, on Friday, March 28, will be one for real nostalgia buffs, revisiting the days of music hall, with show songs, cockney sing-alongs and Second World War songs.

Harry Hill's Wild Horses Tour is on Sunday, March 2.Another highlight will be the visit of Tap Dogs, the internationally acclaimed all-male dance troupe, from Tuesday, March 4 to Saturday, March 8. The box office number for all shows is 01242 572573.
