BROMSGROVE Rovers joint manager Jon Ford believes there is no cause for concern despite his side's alarming run of poor form.

Rovers have taken just one point from their last four games and have failed to hit the target since going down 4-2 at home to Gloucester City in January.

In the last six weeks the Victoria Ground outfit have endured a tough series of fixtures, playing five of the current top six.

But Ford is not worried that his and Gary Hackett's team have failed to record a victory against any of them.

"We are having a bad spell but let's put it in perspective," Ford added. "We have played five of the top six teams and we're the sixth. We are still second in the league."

But last Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Gresley saw them turn in one of their worst displays to date.

"That was as poor as we have played all season," Ford said. "I was very disappointed. We tried something new and changed it a little bit and it didn't work out for us. We didn't deserve to score.

"We will sit down in training and ask the players but we have got to get back to basics and start again."

Amazingly, after just two Dr Martens Western victories since the turn of the year, Rovers remain second although the chasing pack are now breathing down their neck.

All this makes Saturday's visit of Taunton Town a vital match as Rovers try and get back on track.

Ford said: "We seem to be lacking in confidence. We need to get everybody behind us and hopefully bounce back."
