PRISON officers visited pupils at a Malvern school to give them an insight into what life is like behind bars.
The prison officers from Long Lartin Prison, Redditch, went to Dyson Perrins High School, on Yates Hay Road, to meet with Year 11 pupils as part of the "Prison Me No Way" scheme.
The scheme, which has been running throughout the country for the past few years, aims to teach children about the reality of prison life rather than the images they receive from the media.
Sean Goldburn, co-ordinator of the scheme, said the idea is to show the children what they can expect if they ever found themselves in prison.
The visit included telling the pupils about a prisoner's basic regime, the workshops that are available to prisoners, clothing worn by inmates and guide around one of the prison vans.
He said the visit was well received and the general feedback they had from pupils and students is that the scheme is very worthwhile.
