MUSICIANS will be helping drum up funds for a good cause when a Live Aid-style event is held in Worcester.

The event, which is being organised and staged by Irish bar O'Neill's, will be raising money for the Royal National Institute for the Blind during St Patrick's weekend.

Four bands will be playing their flavour of rock, pop and Celtic music to punters when the event takes place on Sunday, March 16.

Birmingham rock and pop bands Freefall, Indigo and The Collective will be on the bill when the gig starts at 7pm.

Solo artist Jim Fox, from Wales, will also be entertaining punters with his Celtic renditions on the night.

"The profits from the ticket sales will go to the RNIB," said Jim Anderson, licensee manager of the venue in St Nicholas Street.

"We are also getting a guy dressed up as St Patrick as the event takes place the day before St Patrick's Day.

"We are very happy to be raising money for a good cause and its all live music on the night."

Tickets for the event are £5, and will be available from the pub soon.
