GREAT Scott! Kidderminster Harriers manager Ian Britton has again come up trumps with his wheeling and dealing in the transfer market.

His latest success is 22-year-old defender Dion Scott who helped Harriers keep their Nationwide League Division Three play-off hopes alive on Saturday when he notched his side's equaliser in a valuable 2-2 draw at Carlisle United.

Scott follows in the footsteps of a number of players who have impressed after being recruited by Britton this season either on loan or on short term deals. They include Wolves trio Mark Clyde, John Melligan and Kenny Coleman plus Andy Bishop from Walsall.

Also taken on board recently was experienced goalkeeper Fraser Digby, who began his career with Manchester United and went on to play for Swindon, Crystal Palace, Huddersfield and Queens Park Rangers.

For Scott the move to Aggborough has enabled him to resurrect his Football League career. He began as a trainee with Walsall where he captained the youth team before moving into the reserve side.

After a loan spell at Boston last season he joined Mansfield, but a shoulder injury halted his progress and he was released in a cost cutting exercise.

Scott's eye-catching performance on his debut for Kidderminster against Bournemouth last week and Saturday's goal at Carlisle has confirmed Britton's belief that the Birmingham-born campaigner can fulfil his potential at Aggborough.

Britton said: "Dion has had a bad time through injury this season but hopefully that is now behind him. He's big, strong and very mobile. We can't afford to put him on a permanent contract but it is a chance for us to have a closer look at him."

Meanwhile, Harriers are preparing to reveal plans for the building of a new all-seater stand to replace the Bill Greaves terrace on the railway side of the ground. All contracts for the construction have now been signed and Harriers officials are expected to announce further details later this week.
