I WAS very saddened to read the letter from Jane Birch about the loss of her dog Nell who was frightened by fireworks. It is indeed a nuisance that we have to put up with them all year round.
On Saturday, December 21, fireworks were set off twice in my neighbourhood and my poor cat dived for cover terrified - it takes ages to calm her down. At least we shall not have to put up with a large display at the back of us on New Years Eve as the London weekenders have gone abroad.
Like Jane I beg people to consider others but I doubt they will.
