NIGHTCLUB bosses in Bromsgrove have promised to stick to the rules of their licence.

Euphoria, in Worcester Road, is allowed to continue admitting people until 11.30pm, for the next six months, agreed Bromsgrove District Council's licensing committee, at a hearing last Monday.

The club had a trial period, from May to November, letting people in until 11.30pm, 30 minutes later than their original licence stated, but CCTV cameras showed the club had breached that admittance time on ten occasions.

But now councillors has given the club a second chance.

The meeting, at the Council House, Burcot Lane, included police views and footage. Manager of Euphoria, Ryan Newland, explained that on most occasions the breaches were due to door staff from Hoolahan's pub, across the road, entering the club.

Mr Newland, who lives in Bromsgrove, explained door staff at Hoolahan's and Euphoria were supplied by the same company, Supreme Security.

He admitted two staff from Rajtani chip shop being allowed in at 12.40pm, because they were friends with management, was unacceptable.

PC Nigel Payne told the hearing: "The tape speaks for itself, however Mr. Newland has been a very good manager and he works well with the police."

The council agreed to Euphoria admitting people until 11.30pm with two conditions. Firstly, that lone vulnerable people should be allowed to wait in the reception for a taxi. And secondly, that Supreme Security door staff should only be allowed inside the nightclub to work should be uniformed.

Mr Newland, said: "We are very grateful to councillors for their decision. There will be no recurrence of these breaches because we know how important having this freedom to enter the venue a little later is to our customers," the manager added.

Councillor Terri Matthews, (Con - Furlongs), said: "You must make sure you will stick to your word, and do not breach the time again."
