RENOWNED acoustic guitarist Martin Simpson is appearing at Huntingdon Hall in Worcester next Friday, January 17.

Also a powerful songwriter, Martin's playing, defined as the English steel string acoustic guitar sound, is instantly recognised and revered amongst guitar fans.

The musician recorded his first album, Golden Vanity, in 1977 at the age of 22 before touring with Steeleye Span.

The following year he went on tour with June Tabor and they eventually recorded three albums together.

Recently named one of the top 15 artists of the decade by Acoustic Guitar magazine, his latest album, The Bramble Briar, signals his return to the UK after a stint of more than ten years in America. Tickets at £9 or £8 for concessions, can be obtained from the box office on 01905 611427.
