THE Palace Theatre this week announced another record-breaking pantomime run.

The curtain closed on Cinderella on Sunday - but not before attendance records were smashed.

The Alcester Street theatre increased the number of performances from 33 during its 2001/2002 pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk to 40 for Cinderella.

And it saw a record footfall of 12,519 people through its doors during the production's four-week run.

A Palace Theatre spokesman said this represented a house percentage of 78 per cent and was an increase of 884 on last year's attendance figure of 11,635.

The spokesman said the theatre's management team was already in discussion about which pantomime to stage in 2003/2004.
