BIRMINGHAM Repertory Theatre is producing the regional premiere of David Hare's trilogy Racing Demon, Absence of War and Murmuring Judges as part of its new season.
The plays, first performed together by the National Theatre in 1993, look at three of the country's institutions - the church, the Labour Party and the law.
Together, they portray a detailed and startling picture of the nation at the end of the 20th century.
All three will be presented in repertoire by a single company of actors including Jack Shepherd, from ITV's Wycliffe, Carolyn Backhouse, John Hodgkinson, Tim Kightley, Paul Raffield and Hugh Ross.
David Hare's other credits include The Blue Room, which can also be seen at The Rep, Plenty, Skylight, Pravda and more recently The Breath of Life with Dames Maggie Smith and Judi Dench.
The Rep also presents a range of events designed to stimulate debate, including post-show question and answer sessions with David Hare.
The trilogy starts on Friday, March 7.
Tickets are available on 0121 236 4455.
