CHRIS Catling has kept his place at full-back as Worcester Rugby Club face one of their biggest tests of the season on Saturday.

The Sixways side face fast improving Orrell in the National One clash (1.45pm) at Edge Hall Road and on-loan signing Catling has got the nod despite the return to fitness of Duncan Roke.

Roke has recovered from a broken finger but, after Catling's impressive debut in the 62-14 weekend win over Coventry, he has to settle for a place on the bench.

"Chris Catling slotted in very well on Saturday and looked as if he'd been with us a lot longer than he actually had," said coach Andy Keast.

"Chris is a quality player. Everyone could see that on Saturday and he added to our game plan against Coventry. Duncan is just coming back from injury but he is also a quality player who is included in the 22. He can fit in anywhere really from 13 backwards so it's great to have that flexibility in the squad.

"It is a sporting clich but you are only as good as your bench and we believe we've got a strong bench there and players who are pushing the ones on the pitch. For us, it's always about the 22 and none more so than on Saturday.

"Orrell is a big game for us and we are confident after scoring 10 tries against Coventry."

Mark Gabey is ruled out after breaking his arm against Coventry but that gives Christian Evans the chance of a first league start for two months after returning from a dislocated collarbone. Richard Nias is brought back into the squad while Roke takes James Ogilvie-Bull's place.

The match will see Scottish international colleagues Ben Hinshelwood and Andy Craig go head to head in the midfield. The former Bedford man has been on fire this season for Worcester but Craig has taken the outside centre berth for Scotland while Hinshelwood has gone from strength to strength at full back for his country.

"Ben is getting better and better every week," added Keast. "He is fantastic and, if he continues to work hard and improve, he has a big future."
