TOWNSPEOPLE sent Redditch MP Jacqui Smith about 100 postcards asking for her support in Parliament to change the law to allow terminally ill adults the option of requesting medical help to die.
The campaign has been running since the death of human rights campaigner Diane Pretty, who died from motor neurone disease last year after a legal battle for the right to receive assistance to die.
Residents also signed an online petition at www.Justice4Diane.org.uk and in September, the ukActNow.org team, headed by terminally ill campaigners and Mrs Pretty's husband Brian, handed over the largest e-petition ever received by the Prime Minister's office, which boasted 11,663 names.
