REDDITCH United Women will be playing in the second round of the Hereford and Worcester County Cup after their reserves beat Worcester in the first round.
Faced with the threat of a £350 fine from the Kidderminster and District league bosses if they fail to complete their new Worcestershire County League programme, Redditch Weatherguard have decided it would be more prudent to play a county league fixture on January 19, when the second round is held.
Weatherguard - effectively Redditch United Women Reserves - will make way with the first team taking over for the visit of WM League Division One South rivals Hereford Pegasus in the cup.
The first team fixture at Ross Town was off at the weekend along with the rest of the league programme and manager Steve Tayler is hoping for better luck at home to Southam on Sunday (ko 2pm).
