CHESS: John Wrench won Kidderminster's Lightning Tournament in which players have to move every 10 seconds.
In the closest possible finish, Wrench was just half-a-point ahead of Paul Thomas and Mark Riley.
Thomas had stormed into the lead with six straight victories but then drew with Riley and was beaten by Wrench in the decider.
Final scores: Wrench 10,Thomas and Riley 9.5, Jim Friar 9, Peter Yates 8, Maurice Bissell and Frank Pickett 7, Kevin Brant and Clive Billinge 4.5, Dave Close 4, Terry Pountney 2.5, John Varilone 2.
