IN response to both Barry Heaven and Don Vincent (Letters, December 25) I agree wholeheartedly.
I believe a lot of problems arise when people push their religious beliefs on others, pointing out the faults in their beliefs and choosing to ignore the controversial parts of their own.
Religion cannot hold an answer to all of society's problems and sadly it causes many of its own.
It is time to stop turning to outdated religious books for guidance and live by a moral code people of all beliefs can agree on.
Such as respect for one another, protecting the vulnerable, contributing to our community etc.
It's time to stop oppressing people because of irrelevant differences and identify the values we all share.
Forcing religion on people, especially the young, will simply cause anger and rebellion.
