NEW ideas for improving bus services in Worcestershire will be considered by the county council's environment and sustainability panel next week.

Technology currently used in Hampshire and Devon to direct rural buses on the most efficient route via stops where passengers are waiting will be explained to councillors at next Tuesday's meeting as part of the council's review of bus services.

The company which produces the systems, Mobisoft, will describe how a more flexible approach to bus routes could also improve services in Worcestershire.

Concessionary fares across the county will also be looked at by panel members, who have already said they would like to see a countywide concessionary fares scheme.

The meeting takes place at County Hall at 2pm on Tuesday.
