ONE draw from three games does not bode well for Stourport but manager Tim Langford is not panicking yet after a gutsy performance in the 3-0 defeat to title favourites Weston.

Swifts were only one down for an hour and had their guests floundering in the second half with a spirited display that deserved better.

Langford said: "They were reeling a little bit and we showed some true character. The score-line flatters them with two goals in injury time."

Indeed had a strong 84th minute penalty claim been heeded the outcome could have been completely different.

Returning striker Kerry Giddings out-muscled Weston skipper Ryan Souter but was felled by the defender's late lunge as he was about to shoot.

The linesman was convinced and raised his flag before coyly concealing it when referee Mr Knapp appeared to be, well, napping.

The manager added: "It was very frustrating because if it had been given we might even have gone on and won it because we dominated much of the second half.

"We are not despondent because we are doing everything right and you can't fault the effort of the team."

Swifts trailed after Bradley Thomas' 18th minute volley but had several chances to get back into the game with new signing Ian Bennett, Tim Nicholls and Giddings all going close.

But as they chased the game the hosts were caught with two sucker-punches as Dave Davies sliced into his own net and, seconds later, Wesley Wilson raced away to finish coolly with the last kick of the match.

Substitute Paul Edwards was sent off late on for dissent.
