IAN Britton is bidding to repeat Kidderminster Harriers' best Division Three result of his temporary charge on Saturday.

April's 2-0 win at Rushden and Diamonds boosted Britton's chances of earning the full-time manager role at Aggborough.

He was handed the job at the end of the season and has since guided Harriers to an unbeaten league start with two draws.

But big former Conference championship rivals Rushden will be looking to undo that at Nene Park.

Britton admitted: "The Rushden win seems a long time ago now. Everything was up in the air with Jan Molby and Lionel Newton going.

"Rushden have started well but if we show the same character and commitment we have done then I don't see why we can't get a result."

Britton is keeping quiet over his team selection and tactics but is hoping several niggles from Tuesday's hard-fought 0-0 draw at Bournemouth will clear up.

Skipper Sean Flynn should be back after apparently tripping over a child's toy and falling down the stairs at home during the weekend.

Flynn's fall required stitches to his face but Ian Foster definitely returns to the fray from a suspension.

Britton has been happy with the start after Harriers picked up their display for a 1-1 draw with Lincoln on Saturday.

He continued: "You look back and we could have won both our games so far. It is a good start anyway.

"We were simply poor in the first half against Lincoln which I think was nerves to begin with and we played into their hands.

"It was good at Bournemouth that we kept our shape, everybody did their job and worked tremendously hard.

"I've already said if you're going to do anything in this league, you have to work very hard.

"And if you've got good talented players which we have you might be able to do something with them.

"I'm pleased that as the games have gone on we have got better."

Britton has pinpointed Onandi Lowe as the main threat for Rushden but believes he can be riled.

He explained: "Lowe will be a threat, he gets goals and is a big lad but he's a temperamental player.

"If things aren't going right, he doesn't like it. If we get on top of him, hopefully it will get his back up."

Rushden, who have drawn 2-2 at Swansea and beaten Torquay 3-0 so far, have signed ex-Harriers right-back Marcus Bignot but he is doubtful with a knee injury.

Harriers' Andy Corbett has joined Solihull on loan for three months.

Fans can buy the new black away shirt at Aggborough between 10.30am and 12.30pm on Saturday with the team due to wear the strip at Rushden later in the day.
