A SWIFT revenge mission is planned at Walshes Meadow as Stourport boss Tim Langford again looks for new signings.

Swifts entertain Gloucester City on Saturday, just two weeks after a 2-0 Dr Martens League Western Division defeat down the M5.

Langford is considering seven-day approaches for several players ahead of the Sunday, March 31, transfer deadline to fill his wafer-thin squad.

He is still waiting to hear from former Bromsgrove man Ryan Daley who is without a club.

And a swoop for Moor Green midfielder Danny Scheppel failed with the player restored to the Premier Division side's first team.

Langford is without defender Steve Ulfig, who is out for the season with a knee injury that could require surgery, while skipper Asa Charlton is banned for two games.

But he insisted: "We want to finish as high in the table as we can. We are looking forward to returning to home games and continuing our good form there.

"It's important that we get the points at home and we certainly want to put the record straight with Gloucester.

"We need to get at them, it's as simple as that. We play our best football going forward and have been defensively strong all season."

Swifts lost another game in Gloucestershire on Saturday with a 1-0 defeat at Cinderford when the visitors could have won.

Matt Beard returns after a bout of flu for the weekend but Ian Cottrill's groin strain, which makes him 50-50, is another reason for Langford to add the squad.

He said: "If I'm going to put seven days in for players, I have to do it Thursday or Friday really. I have a couple of names in mind.

"But I've had no contact from Ryan Daley who I'd asked to come to training to sign forms for us. I believe he's been busy with work though."

And Langford praised 17-year-old defender Sean Wright who has slotted in well during recent weeks.

He added: "Sean looks a good prospect and is versatile across the back three. He's probably a bit shy but will come out of his shell with more games under his belt."
