A PROLIFIC striker will be one of Stourport Swifts boss Tim Langford's pre-season priorities.

Langford, who admits to a tough first five months in charge, takes his team into the final game of the season at home to Bilston on Saturday.

Swifts know they will finish in the Dr Martens Western Division top 10 but need a weekend win to guarantee remaining in eighth place.

It has been a satisfying first season in the league but Langford believes a 20-goal forward is needed to help Swifts improve.

He said: "Without a shadow of a doubt, that is a priority for me though I'm not saying Kerry Giddings or Andy Wright cannot score.

"They both work hard but are not really natural goalscorers. Andy has also played with an injury for the last four-or-so weeks and the close-season rest will do him good.

"I don't see myself as someone who can put the ball in the net on a regular basis either.

"We might already have that 20-goal man at the club but from what I've seen so far I don't think we do. We will be working hard throughout the summer to find someone."

Swifts are without the suspended Dave Davies, keeper Rob Clarke and young squad player Paul Edwards on Saturday.

Teenager Adrian Hipkins is set to step in for Clarke though Langford was planning to play him anyway.
