A SNOW-dusted scene of a church is selling like hot cakes as Kemp Hospice's Christmas card - boosting its appeal and earning the artist a bottle of champagne.

Rod Willis painted the watercolour of St Mary's Church, Kidderminster, last winter and donated the copyright free of charge.

The card has already sold 5,000 copies after going on sale in hospice shops last month - raising hundreds of pounds for the appeal to fund a move to Mason Road.

And professional artist Mr Willis, 33, of Severnside Mill, Bewdley, has already agreed to create next year's Christmas scene.

Fundraising manager Chris Ritchie said the hospice was "thrilled" with the "Christmas present".

She added sales had been so quick another print run had been ordered.

Pupils from Sutton Park First School will sing carols at the weekly coffee morning supporting Kemp at Kidderminster Library on Thursday, December 5 from 10.30am.
