PHOTOGRAPHS taken in the late 19th century will form part of an exhibition celebrating 100 years of church life.

The event is in May, and organiser Peter Salmon is appealing for St John the Baptist Church, Kidderminster, memor- abilia.

In a search at Kidderminster Library, Mr Salmon found half a dozen pictures - owned by the Shuttle/Times and News -- featuring the interior and exterior of the Bewdley Road church and its hall.

They are thought to have been taken in the second half of the 1800s.

The 71-year-old, of St John's Avenue, Kidderminster, who has been a church warden for two years, said: "The photographs are interesting and I was delighted to get a copy of them.

"The exhibition is part of our celebration of the last 100 years of church life.

"There is lots of planning to do, and so I want to get as many photographs as possible now to sort through and date," he added.

Anyone who can lend photos or articles on the church for the display should call Mr Salmon on 01562 747306.
