THE new leader of a Wyre Forest group aims to make sure it continues to be the business voice of the district.

Tim Jones, a partner at Morton Fisher Solicitors, has been appointed chairman of Wyre Forest Business Forum.

Bosses set up the group in 2000, following the merger of Kidderminster and District Chamber of Commerce with its county body, to ensure business chiefs maintained a forum for debate and were able to lobby on community issues.

Mr Jones is head of business law at the solicitors' Kidderminster branch, where he has been working for 15 years.

The 37-year-old said: "It is a great honour to be appointed chairman of the forum, and I would like to pay tribute to the inaugural chairman Steve Hodge, who has done so much to get this group off the ground and firmly established"

He added: "I intend to build on the foundations that Steve has laid, and ensure that the business voice of Wyre Forest is heard, not only locally and regionally, but also nationally in order that we can build and grow a sustainable local economy."
