GOAL machine Craig Pratt rescued a West Midlands League Division One South point for Chaddesley Corbett with a 70th-minute equaliser at Bridgnorth Town Reserves.

Pratt cancelled out the home side's 10th-minute penalty after finishing off a cross from Gavin Davies at the second attempt.

Chaddesley man-of-the-match Matt Baynton admitted: "Although it wasn't a vintage performance, we battled well and a draw was a fair result."

Third-placed Chaddesley started slowly and were punished when Joss Price brought down Bridgnorth's striker in the area.

Steve Crann dispatched the kick past debutant keeper Steve Parker who had an outstanding match.

Chaddesley fashioned a few chances in the first half with Davies and Gavin Knight shooting wide before Ian Vogel's glancing header was blocked by the Bridgnorth keeper's head.

Scott Mullen made his debut in the second half and brought vitality to the game with fellow sub Alex Taffe.

Davies' pace tormented the defence as he created Pratt's equaliser and his 82nd-minute individual effort shaved the post.

Parker tipped a fierce shot onto the bar and Baynton made three crucial last-ditch tackles at the other end but Chaddesley could have stolen the points.

However, Davies' cross was put straight into the keeper's arms from six yards by Taffe.

Chaddesley's players will be meeting at The Running Horse pub at 12.30pm for Saturday's match.
