BASKETBALL: A visit to the home of current West Midlands Premier League holders Warley A resulted in a 104-49 defeat for Airedale Kidderminster Cobras.

Cobras were full of optimism after a single-point defeat to their strong opponents in March but had a distinct lack of height in a below-strength line-up.

But ironically that did not prove their downfall as they were completely out-classed by Warley's star players Wallis (51 points) and Sarwar (34).

Warley were quick to take an 11-2 lead though Mark Bonshor and Roy Francis ensured the home side were not out of sight at 25-13 by the end of the first quarter.

They switched to a man-to-man defence to stem the threat of the dominant Wallis who had amassed 17 points already.

They reduced the deficit to nine points after a foul on Matt Law but this was to be the closest they came to making a game of it.

Cobras were 49-24 behind at half-time and the game was effectively over as Warley then raced into a 65-27 lead which they went on to increase.

Law bagged 16 points for Kidderminster, Francis 11 and Craig Fielder 10.
