Wednesday Club: Nearly all members were at the November meeting, which was the ever-popular local history meeting. Readings, reminiscences, taped voices from the past and displays of historical photographs and club albums all combined to produce a most enjoyable afternoon. A humorous look at present-day village life and a spooky look at local ghosts rounded off the programme. Two more ancient customs were then honoured - the raffle and tea-time.
The next meeting will be on December 11 at the village hall. This will be the Christmas lunch, prepared by Beverley Webb, and will be free for members. Liquid refreshment to complement the traditional meal should be brought by the diners. Sherry will be served at 12.30, lunch at 1 pm.
