A DISHEVELLED teddy bear found at a house in St John's, Worcester, has gone under the hammer for £460.
The bear, which is believed to date back from before the Second World War, was auctioned off at the Andrew Grant Fine Art Victorian and Collective Sale at St Mark's House, Worcester.
The bear was made by the Steiff company which first introduced teddy bears around 1903.
His feet had straw coming out and it is believed he escaped the refuse bin on many occasions.
The bear, which was bid for between two telephone bidders went to a private collector in Lincolnshire.
The auction took place in the Cherry Orchard sale room earlier this month.
