MALVERN Town bounced back to top form with a 4-1 West Midlands League Premier Division win over bottom club Walsall Wood.
MALVERN TOWN 4, WALSALL WOOD 1
A powerful first half performance left Walsall four goals and a man down by half time.
Dean Roberts opened the scoring after 10 minutes and Darren Wade headed home the second seven minutes later.
In the 27th minute Walsall keeper Ben Astley, who had previously been booked for handling outside the area, received his marching orders when he held onto Roberts to prevent him turning inside the area. Roberts slotted home the resulting penalty.
Just before half time the ball fell to Steve Walker on the edge of the area and he rifled the ball into the net.
The second half was a dour affair. Dale Wood struck a sweet shot past David Alden midway through the half, but the Malvern goal never looked under any real threat.
