STORIES from a scruffy, depressed road make up the latest play at Worcester's Swan Theatre.
The Pilot Theatre Company, in association with the Lyric Hammersmith and York Theatre Royal, present Road, a tale by Jim Cartwright of lost souls, repressed dreams and the desire to escape. It opens at 7.45pm, on Tuesday, November 12, and runs until Saturday, November 16.
Under the guidance of the rum-soaked Scullery, the audience will be taken from street corner to living room, from bedroom to kitchen, to visit inhabitants old and young.
The stories are told from day into evening into night and early morning sunrise until we meet Brink, a DJ in his rubbish-strewn bedsit with a pair of gleaming decks and a mint condition vinyl collection.
Seven actors are employed to tell the play's 12 stories, which are meant to represent what could happen in any town, any pub and on any road.
Tickets, ranging from £7-£14.95, are available from 01905 27322. There is a matinee at 2.30pm on Thursday, November 14 and a post-show discussion on Wednesday, November 13.
