DEAD rock legends, a puppet fairytale and innovative dance all feature in this week's programme at Tewkesbury's Roses Theatre.
Swansea's Ballet Russe will be performing romantic ballet Giselle, which tells the story of love that reaches beyond the grave, tonight (Friday) at 7.30pm.
A puppet show telling the tale of Rapunzel, the beautiful maiden with the tresses of long, golden hair, is to start next week. Opening at 2.30pm on Sunday (November 3), it is suitable for children aged five and over.
Some of the biggest names in popular music ever are booked to appear for the following two nights, when Rockin' On Heaven's Door take to the stage. Monday and Tuesday (November 4 and 5) evenings will rock to the sounds of performers who have perfected professional Elvis, Roy Orbison, Buddy Holly and Eddie Cochran impressions.
The Henri Ogiuke dance company will then pick up the baton with a series of contrasting dance pieces in a show on Thursday (November 7). The pieces will range from Melancholy Thoughts, inspired by contemporary styles of playing violin and guitar, to Front Line, which is performed to a live, orchestral accompaniment of Shostakovich's 9th Quartet.
A peformance by Anglo-Iranian comedian Omid Djalili, scheduled for Friday, November 8 has been postponed till Sunday, February 9. This is to allow him to attend the premiere of his new film Anita and Me.
