A FRENCH music lesson from broadcaster Roger Nicholls awaits patrons of Worcester Concert Club next weekend.
Mr Nicholls will play and introduce piano music written and performed in Paris between 1830 and 1930, interspersed with anecdotes about the composers and performers.
Beginning with Chopin, he will also perform works by Liszt, Chabrier, Debussy, Ravel and Poulenc at Huntingdon Hall on Sunday, November 10 at 3pm.
Mr Nicholls studied music at Oxford, where his tutors included the composer Edmund Rubbra, and was made a Fellow of the Royal College of Organists in 1962. He has taught at schools and universities as well as working as a freelance writer, pianist, lecturer and broadcaster on BBC Radio. His books cover French music since Berlioz, particularly Debussy, Ravel and Messiaen. He is currently working on a biography of Stravinsky.
Tickets for the event are £10, available from the box office on 01905 611427.
