HIGH-flying Kidderminster Harriers will carry out fitness checks on Danny Williams and Craig Hinton before finalising their side for tomorrow's Nationwide League Division Three clash against Torquay United at Plainmoor (3pm).

Both were injured in Tuesday's 4-0 triumph over Swansea City at the Vetch Field which lifted in-form Harriers up to second place in the table.

Influential midfielder Williams is suffering from a rib injury while key defender Hinton has a damaged ankle.

They were both substituted at half time against Swansea when Harriers recorded their biggest win since joining the Football League.

Utility player Adie Smith is definitely ruled out because of hamstring trouble.

Having moved into the highest league position in their history Harriers face a tough task tomorrow against a Torquay side who are just three places and one point behind them.

The Aggborough outfit, however, have won their last five away matches, including a 3-1 victory over Nationwide Conference side Dagenham & Redbridge in the first round of the LDV Vans Trophy.

The Gulls have lost just one home league encounter so far this term and thumped Bournemouth 4-0 in midweek, so Harriers boss Ian Britton is expecting his side to be stretched to the limit.

He said: "Torquay must be doing something right as league positions don't lie. It will be a tough game."

Britton, however, is continuing to warn his players to keep their feet firmly on the ground following their recent run of impressive performances which have hoisted Harriers to within five points of table-topping Hartlepool United.

He said: "The belief in the camp is superb. But you will find a lot of things will start to revolve around injuries and suspensions.

"We haven't had a great deal yet but with the winter months we will. We've only got a small squad and a very young one as well.

"It's a long season and we are only l6 league games in. We have got to keep our feet firmly on the ground and, though it may be an old cliche, take one game at a time."

Kidderminster's Danish front-runner Bo Henriksen also believes that it is far to early to start talking about promotion.

He said: "I know there is still a long way to go and promotion is still a distant dream but at least we showed at Swansea that we have the quality to stay in the race."

FORMCAST: A 2-2 draw is a strong possibility.
