AFTER attending a meeting which included planning permission for dwellings on the Co-op Laundry site in Yates Hay Road I am amazed and appalled that despite having raised objections to councillors these said councillors, elected to represent us were not doing so. Not once were the views and concerns of local residents expressed.
I, and other residents, have expressed concern over the extra traffic from 38 more houses into an already congested and sometimes dangerous road which was not designed to take traffic when built. When children are coming in and out of school and when the local fish and chip shop is open it is particularly bad. Another concern is the extra volume of sewage to flow into an old sewage system. Has there been any consultation with Severn Trent to see if the system is adequate - we were not told.
Obviously there will be more children to be schooled - where? And where are they going to play - possibly on a congested road?
At this moment I am wondering why we elect these people to represent us when a far as I can see after attending the meeting they are not doing what we elected them to do and I wonder what has happened to letters of objection - none of which were mentioned.
