FOUR Saturday morning sessions at various distribution points round the village have seen over three quarters of the complimentary Jubilee pictorial maps issued to Colwall parish households. Sales of extra copies have been brisk and Richard Bennett has taken a surprisingly large number of orders for framing. With Christmas coming it seemed reasonable to offer a final chance to collect or purchase copies to folk who missed the main dates for one good reason or another. This has been arranged for Saturday, November 9 from 10am-noon at the village hall. Neighbours can collect for you if you still have a problem or if you are facing postal deadlines you can arrange for collection by ringing 540204. For a framed copy in time for Christmas it would be advisable to see Richard as soon as possible.

The Colwall Players production of The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen's Guild Dramatic Society production of Macbeth took place at Colwall Village Hall at the end of last week. Those taking part were Dianne Lloyd, Barry Page, Adrian Mealing, Marilyn Middleton, Trish Hockett, Anna Byers, Angela Meredith, Judy Roberson and Steve Mellor. The production was directed by Andrew Howie. It is now being taken to the Conquest Theatre, Bromyard and is on Friday and Saturday, November 1 and 2.

To celebrate Carl Attwood's 20 years as Rector of Colwall and Coddington, a lunch at Colwall Village Hall followed a service at St James Church last Sunday morning, attended by the Bishop of Ludlow. One hundred and twenty two people sat down to lunch and speeches were made by Sydney Widdows and Lesley Hutton. Carl was presented with a book token.

Don't forget the village quiz on Friday, November 8 starting at 7.30pm. Teams of four £6. There will be a bar and raffle. Once again proceeds to go to St James, Aston, Birmingham. Monies sent from last year's quiz enabled children from this inner city area to go on a holiday during the summer.
