A KARAOKE evening will be held at the Blue Bell Inn, Callow End on Saturday, November 9 from 9.30pm onwards, in aid of charity.

Callow End School celebrated harvest in October with seasonal hymns, songs and readings. Donations of food were delivered to the homeless at MHHYAT Foyer, Malvern Link.

Harvest was marked at St James' Church when members of Junior Church attended. Glenn Colton and Hannah Whittal-Williams, both from farming families, read. The church was decorated with flowers and produce and food donations were distributed among the homeless and needy of St Paul's Hostel, Worcester and Malvern's Women's Refuge and MHHYAT Foyer.

Lesley Towey, the Worcester Diocesan Children's Officer, last week visited the parents/ teachers of St James' Junior Church with fresh ideas for presenting the Christian story.

A Community Fair will be held at Callow End Village hall on Saturday, November 23 from 2-4pm. To take a stall of fancy goods, crafts and saleable items contact Mrs Marjorie Harris on (01905) 830628. Proceeds are for hall funds.

Tomorrow (Saturday) there will be a barbecue at The Old Bush, Callow End from 6.30pm onwards in aid of the Royal British Legion. The house to house collection for the Poppy Appeal is now taking place. The Powick & Callow End Branch of RBL will hold its annual meeting at the Madresfield Club on Tuesday, November 12 at 8.15pm. The Christmas Dinner Dance will be held on Saturday, November 16 and tickets are available from Trevor Barry priced £17 per head.

Remembrance Day services will be held at St Peter's Church, Powick on Sunday, November 10 at 10.50am following the parade of the Royal British Legion members from the Red Lion at 10.40am. At St James', Callow End the service is at 2.30pm preceded by the march off at 2.20pm from Callow End Village Hall. On Monday, November 11 at 11am a service of dedication and remembrance takes place at the War Memorial, Callow End.
