A PENSIONER was left "extremely distressed" after being mugged by a woman as she walked along a Worcester street.

The victim, who is in her 80s, had her bag snatched as she walked along Crickley Drive, Warndon, yesterday evening.

She was approached by a woman who asked her for money before striking her back and arm and snatching the bag.

The bag contained a pension book and £25 in cash.

The robber is described as 16 to 25 years old, small and with long, black, curly hair.

"The elderly victim of this theft has been left extremely distressed by her ordeal," said PC Catherine Bone.
