SIX district play areas which could be saved from the axe by councillors tonight have been named.
Cash-strapped Wyre Forest District Council has reconsidered its original plan to keep four "super-sites" at Stourport Riverside, Northwood Lane in Bewdley and Brinton Park and Springfield Park in Kidderminster while scrapping the remaining 13.
But now three options to be considered by the council's executive are keeping all the district sites, keeping the main four and an additional six, and sticking with the original plan.
If councillors vote for the second option, the extra six sites to be saved would all be in Kidderminster - at Baxter Gardens, Heronswood Road, Willowfield Drive, St George's Park, King George VI playing fields, and Forester Way.
The issue has been brought to the executive after the council carried out a survey which was answered by 709 people living near the neighbourhood sites.
Budget cuts earlier in the year led to the original proposal as redundancies meant staff were only available to maintain four play areas in the long term.
