ON May 27 work started on Marlpool Lane, Kiddermin-ster, near Jackson's public house. The work on the gas pipes was going to be for approximately three weeks.
Now, five months later, the road is still closed to traffic turning left from Willowfield Drive to join traffic on Franche Road.
After so long the "Convenience" store in Marlpool is now going to be re-named "Inconvenience" store, and Jackson's is being called "Stonewall" because once in, it is difficult to get out.
Not much thought is given to the people who live in the midst of this disruption.
I realise this work has to be done, but surely commonsense has to prevail.
I am ready to hear some explanation of why, in this new millennium, we are in this state. Kidderminster looks like the aftermath of a massive earthquake.
