WYRE Forest Brintons were left reflecting on a match they should have won after a Worcestershire Junior Cup last-16 exit at the hands of Bretforton Old Boys.

The West Midland leaguers were level at 1-1 by the end of extra-time only to be edged out 7-6 on penalties.

Forest Brintons dominated with Mark Allen hitting the post, while Richard Hughes and Sam Poutney also went close.

With the score-line blank at the interval, Bretforton came more into the game only to hit a firm defence.

However, they broke the deadlock in extra-time when Brittain scored with a free header inside the box.

Forest Brintons were not to be denied and with just two minutes left Allen deservedly equalised.

Both teams scored four from the first five penalties but Bretforton ran out winners on sudden death in a game the home side could have won.

Players are asked to meet at the Hare and Hounds pub at 12.45pm for Saturday's game.
