IN these days of all doom and gloom I would like to thank through your paper a very kind taxi driver named Alan who helped me beyond his call of duty at Tesco's petrol station in Kidderminster on Sunday night.
My car had a flat tyre which couldn't be mended. The AA breakdown service, for which I am a fully paid-up member, said "get a taxi and we will sort it out tomorrow".
Alan and a friend Rob took me home to Droitwich, met me back in Kidderminster on Monday morning, took the wheel off, took it to a garage and put it back on again and disappeared before I could thank him properly.
Thank-you very much, you have restored my faith in human nature.
In the past I have been mugged and been the victim of theft.
It was a pleasure to meet you and I wish you good luck and health.
