VANDALS have ruined a jazz band's coach with bleach and oil - causing up to £4,500 damage.

The malicious attack, which took place on a Stourport pub car park, has left the town's Severnsiders Marching Jazz Band stranded.

The 35-stong group, which has members as young as four, travels to events nationwide and bought the coach a year ago after fundraising.

Items in the coach, including first aid boxes, sewing kits and flags, were also damaged.

A spokeswoman for Kidderminster Police said: "Offenders entered the coach by forcing the driver's window.

"Oil from a drum kept in the vehicle was then poured over all the seats and floor.

"It has subsequently leaked into the heating vents. Bleach has also been used to damage the interior."

The vandalism happened between 6.15pm last Monday and 4pm the following Wednesday outside the Squirrel Inn, Areley Common - where the coach is usually parked.
