SWIMMING: Wyre Forest swimmers returned triumphant with seven gold medals from a Worcester Swimming Club open meet in the city.
Out of the seven girls and three boys competing, the district also brought back 12 silvers and eight bronzes, while top-six finalists were handed rosettes.
Hannah Wear was the top performer with three golds, two silvers and two bronzes, while Amy Smith claimed two overall wins.
Gold medals: Wear (13/14 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke, 50m breaststroke), Smith (15/16 200m freestyle, 200m backstroke), Emma Levitt (13/14 200m backstroke), Nick Carmichael (13/14 200m butterfly).
Silvers: Wear (13/14 50m butterfly, 100m breaststroke), Levitt (13/14 50m backstroke, 50m freestyle), Carmichael (13/14 100m breaststroke), Chris Wildgust (11/12 200m freestyle, 200m individual medley, 200m breaststroke, 400m freestyle), Paul Ingenthron (11/12 100m backstroke, 200m backstroke).
Bronzes: Wear (13/14 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle), Carmichael (13/14 200m breaststroke), Wildgust (11/12 50m butterfly, 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle), Ingenthron (11/12 50m backstroke), Patricia Webb (11/12 100m backstroke).
Other positions: Levitt (4th, 13/14 100m backstroke, 110m freestyle), Carmichael (4th, 13/14 100m butterfly; 5th, 200m individual medley), Wildgust (4th, 11/12 50m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke; 6th, 50m backstroke), Sian Griffiths (4th, 15/16 200m backstroke), Gina Varilone, Melissa Wildgust (personal bests).
