HOCKEY: Strong Stourport Ladies romped to a 6-1 Worcestershire Division One victory at King's Heath despite an evenly balanced match.

They took the lead on seven minutes with Wilma Martin's well-executed shot and the determined visitors soon went two up through skipper Fran Long.

Kings Heath were kept out by outstanding defender Vicky Whitehouse who created space for Alison Baron and Kate Bailey to push forward.

Stourport led 3-0 at half-time through Martin's second goal on the half-hour mark.

Bailey added a fourth in the second period only for the home side to grab a quick consolation.

But Stourport added two more goals through Long and Melissa Kennedy.

Stourport 2nds 4 King's Heath 0

The seconds continued a good weekend for the ladies with hat-trick heroine Kerry Walker bagging her first on just five minutes.

Stourport did not add a second until 10 minutes after the restart through Walker after a Jessica Trundle free-hit.

A steady display by defender Claire Burrows kept King's Heath at bay before Terri Baron increased the lead on the hour.

Walker converted a Baron cross for the final goal on 69 minutes.

Stourport 3rds 0 Bournville 1

The thirds managed to miss a string of chances against nine-player Bournville as keeper Charlotte Manley was rarely troubled.

Rosie Connolly and Sarah Taylor were the main culprits in the first half and the visitors were more determined in the second period.

With five minutes left they scored to steal the three points and end Stourport's unbeaten run.
